suffer作動詞表示“經受、遭受”同樣可以表示這個意思的還有

undergo: 多指經受艱難、痛苦、不愉快或危險等事。

experience: 指親身經受或體驗某事。

sustain: 指遭受痛苦或承受負擔。

suffer: ?？膳csustain通用，尤指受到損害或傷害。

所以在文章中表示貓受到傷害時，使用的是suffer而不是undergo，什么時候用undergo呢？比如

She has undergone chemotherapy and radiation.她經歷了化療和放療。

在使用suffer，后面常跟from或for，兩者意思不一樣。一個是源于，一個for表示原因，因…而倒霉，或受…之苦

It ems that the further cats fall, the less they are likely to injure themlves.

在這個句子中采用的句型是the more …, the more的用法，表示越…越…，

句子中就是越遠…，越少…

在使用這種象形時，要注意使用的是倒裝句。
