狀語從句與非謂語

一般來說，只有當狀語從句的主語和主句的主語相同時，才能把

狀語從句換成短語。否則，會引起句義的改變。在三大非謂語當中，

只有不定式和分詞才可能作狀語，因而狀語從句自然也只能簡化成這

兩種非謂語形式。

一、狀語從句與分詞

(一)、由于分詞具有副詞的功能，可以在句中作狀語，所以狀語從句

往往可以簡化成分詞短語。具體的簡化操作是：如果狀語從句中含有

be動詞，我們只需把從句主語和be動詞省去，即簡化成短語。

例：1

A zero can have its meaning only when it is ud with real numbers;

thoughts can give off brilliant light only when they are put into actions.

可化簡為：

A zero can have its meaning only when ud with real numbers ;

thoughts can give off brilliant light only when put into actions.

零，只有和實數用在一起才有意義；思想只有付諸行動才能發出光芒。

(二)、如果狀語從句中沒有be動詞，我們則可把從句的主語省去并且

把動詞變成現在分詞-ing形式。對于這種狀語從句的簡化，其實就相

當于分詞作狀語。

例：1

Since I came to Beijing, I have made many new friends.

可化簡為：

Since coming to Beijing,I have made many new friends.

來到北京之后我交了很多朋友。

例：2

After he jumped out of a boat, the man was bitten by a shark.

可化簡為：

After jumping out of a boat ,the man was bitten by a shark.

那名男子從船上跳出后，就被一條鯊魚咬了。

二、狀語從句與不定式

能夠簡化為不定式的狀語從句一般只有目的狀語從句，因為在英

語中，作目的狀語幾乎成了不定式的專屬功能。

例：1

I turned off the TV in order that my roommate could study in peace and

quiet.

可化簡為：

I turned off the TV in order for my roommates to study in peace and

quiet.

我關掉了電視，好讓我的室友安靜地學習。

例：2

I spoke slowly and clearly so thatin order that the audience could

understand me.

可化簡為:

I spoke slowly and clearly in order for the audience to understand me.

我講得既慢又清晰，以便觀眾能聽懂我的話。

例：3

The teacher raid his voice in order that the students in the back could

hear more clearly.

可化簡為：

The teacher raid his voice in order for the students in the back to hear

more clearly.

老師提高了聲音，以便坐在后排的學生能聽得更清楚。
