　　1. balance the books 結賬、結算

是指聰敏。大家恐怕也不難猜出smart money的意思。Smart money是指那些有經驗的投資商或善于賭博的人經管投資的錢。

有的時候，smart money可以直接指這些人。下面就是一個例子。這是一個人在對朋友說經商的前景。

　　例句1: Do you think the economy is heading up or down? The smart money ems to think that business will get better

so maybe it's time to put some money into the stock market.

　　 現金，資金

　　指帶在身上的現有的金錢。相關短語有pay cash(支付現金)，in cash(以現金的形式)，cash back(現金返還，現金折

扣)，cash card(現金卡，自動取款卡)等等。

　　例句：

　　How much cash do you have on you? 你身上帶著多少現金?

　　Customers are offered a 10% discount if they pay cash. 顧客若付現金，可獲九折優惠。

　　 賬單，鈔票

　　指日常生活中的電話費/電費/煤氣費等賬單，也指普通鈔票。常用短語有to nd sb. a bill for sth給(某人)開賬單，發賬單，pay the bills(支付賬單)等等。

　　例句：

　　She always pays her bills on time. 她總是按時支付賬單。

　　a ten-dollar bill 一張十元的賬單。

　　Let’s ask for the bill. 我們結帳吧。

　　 硬幣

　　金屬貨幣的統稱，也可以指各種國家法定貨幣。相關短語有be coining money(暴富，發大財)，to coin a phra(用老話來

說)等等。

　　例句：

　　He fished up a coin from his pocket. 他從口袋中掏出一枚硬幣。

　　The magician palmed the coin and suddenly produced it from a boy's mouth. 魔術師把硬幣藏在掌中，然后突然從一個男

　　 紙幣
