【摘要】在小學英語教學中,教師采用生動活潑、輕松快樂、形式多樣的教學方法進行教學,讓學生身心放松,積極地投入到學習中去并能真切地感受到學習的快樂。Chant有著真實語言情景,節奏明快清晰,易于上口,深受小學生的喜愛,是提高小學英語教學效率的有效形式之一。運用Chant輔助小學英語課堂教學有著重要的意義,如果正確有效地使用,可以為我們的課堂增光添彩,使學生樂此不疲,提高學習效率。
【關鍵詞】Chant教學小學英語興趣
興趣是小學生學習英語的動力之源。小學生天性好奇、好動、好勝,注意力不能持久,意志薄弱,很大程度上憑興趣支配學習。所以Education must be fun(教育必須是有趣的),教師必須得創設輕松愉悅的課堂氣氛,基于Chant富有動感,詞句簡單,內容生動,形式活潑,韻律優美,瑯瑯上口等特點,又因其充滿童趣,所以在課堂當中穿插Chant教學是一條行之有效的途徑。
一、Chant的概念、意義及其作用
英文字典里對于Chant的解釋是: words or phras that are
repeated again and again by a group of people,從解釋里我們可以發現其重要的一點就是不斷的重復,而重復會使小學生感到熟悉,便于記憶。
《英語課程標準》提出:“關注學生的情感,營造寬松、民主、和諧的教學氛圍”,認為“學生只有對自己、對英語及其文化、對英語學習有積極的情感,才能保持英語學習的動力并取得成績”。另外,對于小學生來說,特別是中低年級的學生,好動、好奇、好勝,注意力不能夠持久,在很大程度上都是憑興趣在學習。著名教育家贊可夫說:“我們要努力使學習充滿無拘無束的氣氛,使兒童和教師在課堂上能夠自由的呼吸。如果不能造就這樣良好的教學氣氛,那任何一種教學方法都不可能發揮作用。”所以小學英語教師能在課堂教學的各個環節利用學生的好奇心,合理、恰當地使用英語Chant教學,便能起到事半功倍的效果。 運用Chant教學除了能夠培養學生學習興趣,調動學生參與課堂積極性,同時它還能培養學生的創造性思維能力。如我在教授上海牛津版英語Module3 Unit1 The Tan family at the beach時,穿插了一個Chant:

Sail, sail, sail a boat, sail a boat in the lake
把新授單詞sail放入進去,結合詞組,并提供幾個場景進行操練,使學生易于上口,容易理解,便于記憶。那么在這首Chant基礎上,我嘗試讓學生進行了Chant的編寫,形式如下:
Ride,,.Fly ,,.Collect ,,.給學生提供幾個單詞,模仿sail這個Chant進行編寫,這樣一個舉措,一下子吸引了學生的注意力,調動了學生的積極性,使得每一個學生都積極參與這個創編活動,在這個活動過程中,培養了學生的興趣,夯實了學生的基礎,同時又豐富了學生的想象力,培養其創造性的思維能力。
二、Chant在小學英語教學中的運用
1.巧記英文字母之Chant教學
英語是小學較難的一門學科,原因是英語作為一種語言本身就比較抽象、枯燥,加之學生沒有相應的語言環境,不免會產生陌生感。要使小學英語變得形象、具體、有趣,使學生樂學,必須順其天性,開展各種各樣的活動,其中滲透Chant教學不失為一種很好的方法。
對于剛接觸英語的小學生來說,一切都是陌生的,當然他們對于周圍的一切又充滿好奇,我們老師此時必須利用自己的智慧,切忌上課堂堂一個樣,節節一個調。如在字母教學中,為了讓每一位學生掌握26個字母,為以后的學習打下基礎,我們可以把枯燥的讀寫字母教學變為學生感興趣的chant教學。如在PEP Primary English 教材中就可以把字母和學生感興趣的食物結合在一起:
A B C, follow ’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.1, 2, 3, A B C
It’s so easy as you G French fries, bread and N
Hamburgers hot dogs and , OPQ
Let me share with you.在老師的指導下,讓學生一起擊掌增強節奏感,使學生讀起來瑯瑯上口,看起來形象生動,便于記憶。學生對于這樣的形式樂此不疲,充滿活力。另一方面就是可以讓學生學習正確的英語發音,在這個過程中增強自己的語感。
2.巧記單詞和短語之Chant教學
如何使學生在小學階段掌握大綱要求的詞匯和一定數量的習慣用語及固定搭配,并正確地理解其在語段或語篇中的意思,在小學英語教學中顯得十分重要。英語詞匯看起來是那樣的枯燥乏味,不少學生感到記憶起來困難,掌握其用法就更加困難。我們老師可以改變節奏,使之韻律化,使用Chant可以起到很好的輔助作用。如我在上海牛津版英語3A Module3Unit1My school這節課時涉及到了classroom,
hall, office, library, toilet, playground這幾個單詞,如果還是利用單詞卡片去操練的話,學生很定會對此毫無興趣,所以我就嘗試用Chant來進行操練,挖掘這樣的素材,加入這樣幾個單詞,編成如下這首Chant:
Classroom, classroom, it’s the classroom
Hall , hall, it’s the hall
Office, office, it’s the office
Library, library, it’s the library
Toilet, toilet, it’s the toilet
Playground, playground, it’s the playground
再此基礎上我又給這首Chant配上音樂,學生注意力一下就轉移到了課堂上,節奏感很強,滿足學生好動好奇心理,學生很感興趣。
3.巧記日常用語之Chant教學
“學習的對象不應該是孤立的發音、單詞、語法,而應該是句子。因為人與人交往的最基本單位是句子,在句子中掌握的單詞是有生命力的單詞。”這是Crazy English創始人李陽在一次報告當中所提到的。這就好像詞匯是建造房子的鉆頭,但光有鉆頭還建不成房子。孤立的單詞在特定的情況下是可以表達相應的意思,但很多情況下會引起歧義。把單詞放入句中,能夠幫助學生正確理解單詞的含義,還有利于培養他們的語感。如我在上海牛津版英語3B Module2 Unit1 Animals
I like這節課,其主要內容就是動物的單詞和句型I like…,于是我結合單詞和句型編成了這樣一首Chant:
Cats, rabbits,They are my , lizards,They are my
you like pets?
Do you like friends?
I like pets!
They are my friends.這樣既把動物的單詞和句型糅合在一起,一是可以通過這首Chant強調動物是我們的朋友,二是能夠進行核心動物單詞的替換。這樣,學生記憶的單位是句子,有整體感,有助于體會英語的語流,長期訓練可以培養學生造句的能力,提高說話的能力。
4.巧妙導入之Chant教學
課堂導入是課堂教學中的重要環節,是承上啟下、溫故知新的必然途徑。在課堂教學中,自然、新穎、富有趣味的導入,最能夠吸引學生的注意力,使學生自然地投入到新課學習的氛圍之中,激起他們活躍的思維,提高積極參與語言交流的熱情,實現新舊知識的自然過渡,優化學習效果。如我在教授Oxford English 3A Shanghai
Edition Module3Unit3Parks and playgrounds這個單元中,有一個課時涉及到顏色,但在導入新課這塊,我就想到自己創設一個robot,并把這個robot作為一個線索,貫穿課堂的始終,結合上節課形狀組合成一個robot,編成了如下Chant:

Five, six, I can sing
Seven, eight, I can chant
Shape, shape, what shape
Star, star, hands star Square , square, mouth square Circle,
circle, eyes circle Rectangle , rectangle, body rectangle Triangle , triangle, no

通過這首Chant既復習了形狀的單詞,又復習了句型What
shape is it?全班同學看到這個robot非常興奮,參與熱情極高,然后再Prentation呈現這個環節中利用學生感興趣的robot,把這個robot的肢體涂成各種顏色,自然進入新知識Colors的學習階段。最
為關鍵的是通過這樣的導入牢牢吸引學生的眼球,贏得學生高度的注意力和高漲的學習熱情,讓課堂教學踏出成功的第一步。
用Chant來輔助英語新知識的導入和呈現能使學生在情景中理解語言知識,符合小學生學習語言的心理和年齡特點。當然,英語Chant還可以用在小學英語課堂教學的操練環節,培養小學生的英語聽說讀寫技能。教無定法,只要教師能創造性地使用集趣味性和啟發性的Chant,經過適當、精心的調整和設計,Chant完全可以成為一個多元的教學方式。它們既可以積極地調動課堂氣氛,又可以創建輕松的學習環境供學生進行語言交際。
在小學英語課堂上,sing a song, say a rhyme, play games等等這些都是學生喜聞樂見的形式,而其中的Chant,給其配上音樂,能使小學生對英語的重音、節奏、句子的結構等加強掌握與理解,如善于辨別英語的發音,掌握其重音、節奏、語句、語調等,因為說唱Chant時要求吐字清楚,這對培養小學生正確發音有很大的幫助。Chant的學習除了能幫助小學生學習英語語音和節奏,也可以學習、鞏固語法與詞匯,而最重要的是能提高英語學習的興趣。讓學生在欣賞中學習,在學習中體會,在體會中創造,是一種成功的、行之有效的教學方法,由此獲得的知識和情感,將給孩子未來的英語學習奠定基礎。
