一、 ud to do sth.

ud to 意為“過去常常”，可看作半助動詞或情態動詞，其后跟動詞原形，表示過去的習慣、經常發生的動作或狀態。如：

He ud to be a teacher in our school. 他曾經是我們學校的一位老師。

There ud to be an old temple near the village. 過去村子的附近有一座古廟。

二、 be ud to doing sth.

be ud to doing sth.表示“習慣于做某事”，其中to是介詞，后接名詞或動名詞。如：

The old man and his wife have been ud to living a simple life. 這對老夫婦已經過慣了簡樸的生活。

I am not ud to my new job. 我不習慣我的新工作。

Is she ud to walking after supper? 她習慣晚飯后散步嗎？

be ud to還可用get ud to表示“漸漸習慣于……”。如：

You’ ll get ud to your new job. 你很快就會習慣新工作的。

三、 be ud to do sth. 和 be ud for doing sth.

be ud to do sth. 和 be ud for doing sth. 都可以表示“被用來做某事”。如：

This computer is ud to control all the machines. 這臺電腦是用來控制所有機器的。

Do you know what this tool is ud for? 你知道這工具是用于做什么的？

四、 ud to的各種句式：

1. ud to用于疑問句時有兩種句式，即Did sb. u to do ... ?和Ud sb. to

do ... ? 如：

Did he u to go to the concert? 他過去常去音樂會嗎？

= Ud he to go to the concert?

肯定回答：Yes, he did. 否定回答：No, he didn’ t.

2. ud to用于否定句時也有兩種句式，即didn’ t u to和ud not to。如：

I didn’ t u to play football. 我過去不踢足球。 = I ud not to play football.

3. ud to用于否定疑問句時也有兩種形式。如：

Didn’t you u to go to the library? 你過去不是常去圖書館嗎？ = Ud you

not to go to the library?
