There are veral reasons as for why I would like to talk specifically about yellow as my favorite color. Allow me to explain by mentioning some of them briefly.

.1.blue在漢語中的引申意義較少，而在英語中blue是一個含義十分豐富的顏色詞。英語的blue常用來來喻指人的“情緒低落”、“心情沮喪”、“憂愁苦悶”，如：
（1）They felt rather blue after the failure in the football match.
球賽踢輸了，他們感到有些沮喪。
（2）—— She looks blue today. What’s the matter with her?她今天顯得悶悶不樂，出了什么事情.
—— She is in holiday blue. 她得了假期憂郁癥。
blue在英語中有時用來指“黃色的”、“下流的”意思，如：

有時blue又有社會地位高、出身名門的意義，如blue blood（貴族血統）。
此外，blue在英語中與其它詞匯搭配，還有另外的含義，如：

2.white 在漢語和英語的聯想意義中都有純潔和清白的意思，但也有一些含義上的不同。例如，漢民族文化中，白色與死亡、喪事相聯系，如“紅白喜事”中的“白”指喪事（funeral），表示哀悼。但在英語文化中，white表示幸福和純潔，如新娘在婚禮上穿白色禮服，代表愛情的純潔和婚姻的貞潔。英語中的white有時表達的含義，與漢語中的“白色”沒有什么關系，如：

white man善良的人，有教養的人 white-livered怯懦的
white elephant昂貴又無用之物
漢語中有些與“白”字搭配的詞組，實際上與英語white所表示的顏色也沒有什么聯系，而是表達另外的含義，如：

3. Black 在英語和漢語兩種語言文化中的聯系意義大致相同。例如，黑色是悲哀的顏色，英美人在葬禮上穿黑色服裝，中國人在葬禮上戴黑紗。英語中的Black Friday指耶穌在復活節前受難的星期五，是悲哀的日子。black在英語中還象征氣憤和惱怒，如：
black in the face臉色鐵青 to look black at someone怒目而視
另外，黑色在漢語和英語中都有“陰險”、“邪惡”的含義，不過翻譯時不一定用“黑”或“black”的字眼，例如：

4.green 在英語中可以表示“嫉妒、眼紅”，如：green with envy，green as jealousy，green-eyed monster都是指“十分嫉妒”的意思。漢語中表示“嫉妒”意義的“眼紅”，應該翻譯為green-eyed而不能翻譯為red-eyed。
由于美元紙幣是綠顏色的，所以green在美國也指代“錢財、鈔票、有經濟實力”等意義，如：

英語中的黃色還用來作為事物的特定顏色，例如，美國有些城市的出租車上標有“yellow”（而不是“taxi”）的字樣，代表出租車，因為那里的出租車為黃顏色。如：

(1)My Favorite Color
Blue has always been my favorite color, and I think it will always continue to be so.
I have veral reasons for liking this color best. First, it is a very soothing color and makes people happy. How do people feel when they wake up to day when the sky is a dirty grey? Sad and gloomy. But when the sky is a deep blue, good cheer and joy enters our hearts.
Another reason why I am most partial to blue is that it is the color of oceans and rivers and lakes on a sunny day. Whenever I go swimming, I feel as though I were reborn.
In my estimation, blue is a very refined an noble color. I have veral suits of clothes of different colors, but somehow blue ems to be most becoming to me. At the same time, all my friends say that I tend to look slim and taller whenever I’m dresd in blue.
I have also heard that in English, the term “true blue” means to be faithful. As I have a great respect for the quality of faithfulness, this is one more reason for my liking blue so much.
