Yellow Dragon Scenic and Historic Interest Area islocated at the south ction of Mt Minshanrange,Songpan County，Aba Tibetan and QiangPeoples Autonomous Prefecture, northern SichuanProvince,
黃龍風景名勝區(qū)位于四川北部的阿壩藏族羌族自治州松潘縣岷山山脈南段，
which is a geological transition from the easternedge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau towards SichuanBasin.
屬青藏高原東部邊緣向四川盆地的過渡地帶。
The scenic area covers about 700km2，of which the Yellow Dragon Gully takes up600km2,while the subdivision Mouni Gully occupies the other 100km2.
景區(qū)面積約有700平方公里,其中黃龍溝占據600平方公里,而牟尼溝占地100平方公里。
The area has well prerved tectonic zones, glacial remains, and river source topography.
該地區(qū)有保存完好的地質結構、冰川遺存、江源地貌。
It is well known for the“ four wonders” of colorful ponds，snow mountains，alpine gorges, andforests.
以彩池、雪山 ,峽谷、森林“四絕”著稱于世。
The huge travertine formation is like a golden dragon winding among the virgin forests, cliffs, and icy peaks, constituting the amazing, precipitous, majestic, and wild environmentalfeatures of Yellow Dragon scenic area.
巨型地表鈣華坡谷，如一條金色巨龍，蜿蜒于原始林海和石山冰峰之間，構成了黃龍奇、峻、雄、野的環(huán)境特色。
The altitude of the area is over 3 000m above a level, with snow peaks like a forest,
黃龍海拔在3 000米以上，區(qū)內雪峰林立。
of which 7 are over 5 000m high, while the highest Snow Treasure Peak (Xuebaoding) is 5 588m above a level,which is the summit of Mt Minshan and capped with snow all year round.
5 000米以上高峰就有7座。最高峰雪寶峰為岷山主峰，海拔5 588米，終年積雪。
In the area are also prerved a wealth of rare plants and animals, including 1 500 species ofhigher plants,
區(qū)內有珍貴的動植物種質資源，其中，高等植物達1 500余種，
most of which are only found in China and 11 of them are under Class I to Class III stateprotection.
