通過例句了解一下either……or和neither……nor的用法

首先復(fù)習(xí)一下這兩個結(jié)構(gòu)的用法。

表示的是兩者之中的或者關(guān)系，也就是“或者......或

者......”，是肯定的含義。

表示的是兩者都不，也就是“既不......也不......”，是

否定的含義。

例如：

Either Mary or Jack clearly understands the information.

Mary 和Jack都很清楚地理解這個信息。

Neither he nor his wife agrees to sign the contract.也可以說

Both he and his wife don't agree to sign the contract.

他和他的太太都不同意簽這個合同。

I like neither the red one nor the blue one.也可以說 I don't

like both the red one and the blue one.

我既不喜歡紅色的，也不喜歡藍(lán)色的。

這里有個就近原則，或的句子中，如果連

接的兩個詞是名詞或代詞，謂語動詞的數(shù)要和'or'和“nor'后面的名詞

或代詞一致；但是如果連接的兩個詞是動詞，則動詞的數(shù)要和主語一

致。例如：

Either he or you are good at speaking French.

他和你都擅長講法語。

Either you or he is good at speaking French.

你和他都擅長講法語。

Neither the teacher nor the students want to go first.

老師和學(xué)生都不想先走。

Neither the students nor the teacher wants to go first.

學(xué)生和老師都不想先走。

He neither sings nor dances.

他既不唱歌也不跳舞。

They neither sing nor dance.

他們既不唱歌也不跳舞。

另外，either還有”也“的意思，但是要用在疑問句中，例如：

She doesn't enjoy the music, I don't, either.

她不喜歡音樂，我也不喜歡。

either 和neither在英語中使用非常頻繁，大家要注意它們的含

義。
