take..for granted用法

用法

(1) for granted是一個很常見的句型，意思為“視為當然”，“想當然”，“想必是”，“信以為真”，“認為沒有問題”，心為及物動詞，其后可跟名詞、代詞、從句等作賓語，for granted這個介詞短語一般被視為賓語的補足語。如：

①She took my help for granted．

②Don't take it/everything/things for granted．

③He obrved things carefully and never took anything for

granted．

▲當該句型中take后的賓語是一個句子時，一船都應當用形式賓語it來代替，而把真正的賓語從句放在補語for granted之后。如：

①Tom took it for granted that his parents would stay with him．

②He spoke English so well that I took it for granted that he

was an Englishman.

▲當What引導的句子用于for granted句型時，不能用形式賓語it，不過為了保持句子的平衡，可以把what從句放在for granted之后。如：

Tom took for granted what his parents for him．

分析：上述含what從句的句子為何不能用形式賓語it呢?因為這里的what為關系代詞型what，若將其分解一下，便成了the ，實際上該句相當于名詞，后跟一個定語從句，所以不能用it。

(2)take sb．／sth．for…意思相當于take sb／sth．to be…，常譯為“(把…’)錯當做。…”，“(誤)認為”，“以為是…”。如：

①Don take me for a fool．

②what did you us for?

(for example/for instance“以……為例”。如：

But not all body language means the same thing in different

nodding the head for example．In some Asian

countries it means not“yea”，but“no”.(4)take some money for sth．“接

受……價錢而出售(賣出)·…”，“以……價錢賣掉”，相當于的ll

some money。如：

①Will you take $5,000，for the car?你愿意以5000美元的價格賣掉達輛車嗎?

請比較：I'll take the car for $5,000.(我愿出5000美元買下這輛車。)此句相當于I'll pay $5,000 for the car。
