Part 1 Let's Talk on Line!
Dialogue Script 1
Anne: Where did you meet Susan?
Joe: I met him through a computer bulletin board.
Anne: Oh, really, what bulletin board?
Joe: It was one I ud at the local Internet Café called the E-life.
Anne: I've heard about that, but I've never tried it.
Joe: You ought to. One dollar buys you 15 minutes of computer time. A "chat s
sion" links you with other guys on the network.
Anne: I have no desire to talk on a network with a bunch of strangers.
Joe: That's the whole point. All your inhibitions disappear becau you can't e th
e other person. This network allows you to talk to people whom you normally woul
dn't talk to.
Anne: I just want a private conversation with one other person.
Joe: You can do that. A private ssion lets you talk alone. This online-chat progra
m lets you talk about anything with everyone, without prejudice becau you can't
e them.
Anne: Well, maybe I'll tag along and watch how you talk.
講解:
Susan。 a computer bulletin board 就是網(wǎng)站的公告
欄,那我們平常所說的BBS,就是電子布告欄系統(tǒng) (It's a system that enables urs to
nd or read messages that are of general interest and addresd to no particular
person.)
Joe說You ought to,這個(gè)ought to相
當(dāng)于should,應(yīng)該... You ought to
try it.
I will buy you a concert ticket.
a bunch of strangers
a bunch of還有一串的意思,比如 a bunch of grapes 一串葡萄。
6. That's the whole point.
hat's the point of doing this again and again? 這樣反復(fù)做有什么意義?I got your poi
nt.
7. All your inhibitions disappear becau you can't e the other person.
慮都消失了,因?yàn)榭床灰妼Ψ降哪槨ave a private conversation with one other perso
Dialogue Script 2
Joe: That's fine with me. But we'll have to get there early. After , there's alw
ays a long waiting line.
Anne: Is it that popular?
Joe: Welcome to the 21st century!
Anne: Okay, okay. We're there tonight. So what does it cost?
Joe: One dollar buys 15 minutes of computer time. This talk isn't cheap.
Anne: I don't know. I'll feel funny talking through a computer.
Joe: Then you've got to figure out a cool name for that.
Anne: Well, how about Cinderella?
Joe: Sounds good. I guarantee you can talk to girls who would never talk to you if
they saw your face.
Anne: What's that suppod to mean?
Joe: Well, look in the mirror.
講解:
Ther
e's always a long waiting line.
2. Anne還不相信,問Is it that popular?
The movie is not that bad.
3. Joe說Welcome to the 21st century! Ann
類似的還有 “Welcome to the earth!”,歡迎來到
4. 上網(wǎng)聊天還要起一個(gè)比較吸引人的名字,you've got to figure out a cool name for t
hat.
I guarantee you can talk to girls w
ho would never talk to you if they saw your face.
What's that suppod to mean? 你是什
Joe把玩笑開到底,look in the mirror.
