二、數(shù)字的讀法規(guī)則

以一組13位數(shù)字為單位的阿拉伯數(shù)字34為位，面用英語和漢語表

達時，前者按下標分段記號（，）為單位朗讀，后者按下標分段記號（’）為單

位朗讀。

三、提高數(shù)字口譯的準確性和速度的方法

第一，用分段記號上標和下標分段。

第二，在日常生活中，經(jīng)常不間斷地進行英漢數(shù)字互譯練習，例如每天股市中出

現(xiàn)的交易數(shù)字。

第三，在正式口譯工作中，盡可能將語句中的數(shù)字記錄下來。

美國翻譯理論家奈達說：翻譯就是把意思翻譯出來（translationisto

translatethemeaning)，首先就是要了解原文的意思。比如成語“三心二意”

的意思是說一個人經(jīng)常改變主意，而不是字面上的“三個心，兩個主意”的意思，

因此若翻成“threeheartsandtwoideas",則讓人啼笑皆非。

*迅速地翻譯數(shù)字對中國人來說不容易。這是因為漢語和英語表達數(shù)字的方式不

同。漢語是個、十、百、千、萬、十萬、百萬、千萬、億、十億??，也就是以

“十”的倍數(shù)來表達；而英語則是在數(shù)字超過千以后，以“千”（thousand）的

倍數(shù)來表達的。如“一萬”是“十千”，即tenthousand；“十萬”是“百千”，

即hundredthousand，直至“百萬”（million）。百萬以上的數(shù)字則用“百萬”

的倍數(shù)表達；如“千萬”是“十百萬”，即tenmillion；“億”是“百百萬”，

即hundredmillion，直至“十億”（billion）。因此，凡遇到“萬”和“十

萬”時，都要變成“十千”、“百千”。口譯必然會遇到數(shù)字，沒有經(jīng)過訓練的

人往往會出錯，而數(shù)字譯錯很可能帶來嚴重后果，因此應(yīng)始終把數(shù)字口譯作為一

*數(shù)字練習包括單純數(shù)字練習和帶數(shù)字的句子練習。數(shù)字是公認的口譯難點之

一，所以要反復練習，先從單純數(shù)字開始。但數(shù)字總是和某種計量單位連在一起

并在一定的上下文中出現(xiàn)的，而學生在口譯比較復雜的數(shù)字時，往往把注意力集

中在正確記錄和翻譯數(shù)字上，忽略了相關(guān)的計量單位或上下文的翻譯，因此很有

必要把數(shù)字放在句子中進行練習.

數(shù)字的譯法有以下幾點注意：

一，口譯中經(jīng)常遇到數(shù)字，沒有經(jīng)過訓練的人往往會出錯，這是因為漢語和英語

數(shù)字表達的方式不同。漢語是個，十，百，千，萬，十萬，百萬，千萬，億，十

億??，也就是以“十”的倍數(shù)來表示；而英語則是在數(shù)字超過千以后，以“千”

（thousand）的倍數(shù)來表達的。如“一萬”是“十千”，即tenshousand；“十

萬”是“百千”，即hundredthousand，直至“百萬”，million。百萬以上的

數(shù)字則用“百萬”的倍數(shù)表達；如“千萬”是“十百萬”，即ten

million;“億”是“百百萬”，即hundredmillion，直至“十億”，billion。

掌握以上情況后就知道，凡遇到“萬”和“十萬”時都要變成“十千”，“百

千”。當然，如記錄時能把上述數(shù)字立即寫成10，000和100，000，翻譯起來

就容易了。如記錄時寫成3萬，30萬，那就要在口譯時迅速地轉(zhuǎn)換成“三十千”，

“三百千”后再翻譯。因此如何記下數(shù)字也是一個問題。

上百萬的數(shù)字最簡單的表達方法是把百萬以后的數(shù)字用point多少來表達，如

396萬可說成3.96million;3億9，650萬是396.5million；以此類推，10億

以上的數(shù)字“百億”是“十十億”；129億就是12.9billion。

在用小數(shù)點時應(yīng)注意：小數(shù)點以前的數(shù)字讀法同基數(shù)詞，即數(shù)字之間一般不用連

接詞，只在hundred和后面的十位數(shù)之間用and，如123，456讀作onehundred

andtwenty-threethousandfourhundredandfifty-six。但小數(shù)點的數(shù)字要

一個個分開來讀，如3.126讀作threepointonetwosix。

二，翻譯時常會遇到一些較籠統(tǒng)的數(shù)字，如“幾個”，“十幾個”，“幾十個”

等等，這類表達法需要熟記：
